Given the busy environment and extremely diverse patient population at Mercy Hospital, you can expect exposure to a wide variety of clinical cases and procedure types, even in your first year.

Mercy residents have rotations in relevant primary care areas with exposure to all subspecialty areas. Rotations in-house and at affiliated hospitals provide a wide variety of experience in general gynecological surgery as well as advanced laparoscopic, hysteroscopic and da Vinci® robotic training. Mercy also offers rotation programs for third-year medical students from four area university medical schools which gives residents an opportunity to teach, supervise, and provide guidance in their specialty. View Rotation Schedule.

During the four year program, residents are required to complete one research project which will be entered in the Chicago Gynecological Society Resident Research Competition, where Mercy residents have traditionally received top honors and monetary prizes. Read about other learning opportunities.
